WUC Sport Sets Up Health Group on Facebook
On March 19th, Sport Development Officer, Amy Grimsey, launched the Writtle Health Group. The Facebook Group, which gained 150 members within its first 24 hours, encourages positivity and aims to help the Writtle Community to stay connected during the COVID-19 lockdown.
“I just want to spread some positivity and keep the Writtle community connected during this time of uncertainty. Health and wellbeing is so important, particularly now, so I’m very happy I am able to help by sharing workout videos, recipes, fun challenges, mental health advice and keep spirits high!”
Members of the group are sharing home and outdoor workouts, simple recipes and stress relieving techniques and exercises. Amy will be offering fun challenges and competitions, and has already given members the chance to win one of Nosh’s popular student recipe book.
The University College’s Safeguarding and Wellbeing Manager, Claire Cross, said: “We’re delighted to see our staff and students working together to create an online community. Health and wellbeing are so important in the current climate and we encourage everyone to stay active and connected. Amy has done a fantastic job of bringing our community together. The wellbeing team is looking forward to being involved with the group and offering advice and support.”
