FE Sport Students Complete 24-Hour Charity Cycle

FE Sport students Aaron Stone, Adam Reid, Aaron Freeman and Archie Slaymaker, took on the challenge to complete a 24-hour cycle on Thursday 16th January to Friday 17th January.

As part of the FE Sport qualification, students are required to organise a sport event of their choosing in small groups to go towards a written assignment. Instead of your normal fun run or sports day, the boys decided to organise a 24-hour continuous cycle to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young, which was held outside of the main reception at Writtle University College.

The boys put a lot of effort into organising the event and manage to gain sponsorship from Go Swift and Perkins Garages to help towards the equipment and set up of the event! Under a gazebo, they braved the cold and the rain to achieve a total of 462 miles - that's the equivalent of London to Glasgow + an additional 50 miles!

They were all in great spirits for the duration of the event and had support from various staff members, family and friends throughout the 24-hours. In total they raised £1,622 for the amazing charity that was inspired by events close to their hearts. Well done!
